It was a big hit especially with the Mama. Papa planned the whole thing and it was so relaxing. Just the six of us...get that SIX of us. Wow!
We saw so much of God's creation along the road as we traveled especially at the stop by Hell's Canyon and the dam.
The view was breath-taking and I felt so small and insignificant?
Most of the clan posing in front of a spectacular backdrop.
The rest of the clan...minus the camera man. Spencer was so tired. As I recall this was the end of the trip and he had had enough. He really did a great job.
More of God's handiwork!!
This was my favorite cause you could see the snow too!
Random tree...Brookie must have had the camera. It is good practice as I am always forgetting to get the camera out.
Can you have enough of these kinds of pictures? They don't do it justice.
All the above photos were of the view at Hell's Canyon lookout point. This one of the grasshopper was the only stinking picture we got of the dam. Amazing that with the herd of Nihart's tromping through it didn't hop away.
Now get ready for, what the kids considered, was the best part of the vacation...
Well Papa did make it pretty interesting :) but that wasn't it...
Spencer too... he kept us all on our toes, but that wasn't it...
Twas...the hotel!! We ate snacks, watched Cars 2 before it was out of theatres, and had general "jumping on hotel beds" kind of fun :) I enjoyed that time the best too I think cause the car time was taxing on the little ones and it was fun to just settle down without any laundry or dishes on my list to do and sit in bed and RELAX!!
We visited the Oregon Trail museum as well which was very cool. Justin's head was spinning with all the information and he was just soaking it up. Brookie enjoyed all the hands on things and Tasha went around every corner with fear and trepidation wondering where the next stuffed Buffalo would be lurking. Spencer just toddled around enjoying being out of the car seat. Shane and I read as many signs to them as possible. Usually looking around and realizing we were standing reading to each other as we saw them round the next corner. There was so much to see that they couldn't move fast enough and we were wanting to take our time. We almost went through a second time. It was raining pretty good when we got to the museum so we made a bee-line for the door while Papa parked the car. We didn't get to see much of the outside trails because of that but it probably would have been too much for the kiddos. Anyway to explain the photo above...they all got to pick something out of the gift shop. This isn't what they picked but I insisted they get their pictures in these stylin' hats. Justin was mortified :) hee hee
As you can see we didn't get much footage of the actual museum but we hold the memories in our hearts...quit jumping on that, don't touch, you just went potty, alright who's shoe is this, where is Spencer's binki...where is Spencer? Ha ha
Okay it wasn't that bad. It was fabulous. Can't wait for our next adventure...Babe?
